What is DISC and how can I benefit from it?

A man called Marston originally developed the DISC system for the US armed forces recruitment. Apparently he did a terrific job at it and it turns out that the system can be applied in many other areas of life. 

The DISC stands for Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Compliance. These are the four major traits available in every individual. How much of each, however, is what makes a person unique.
